Spiral of Family

In a time before the Silvermane Tribe forgot to be healers and the true meaning of tribe and family, they would wear a piece of jewelry with the “Litheita”, translated into “Spiral of Family” on a pulse point somewhere on their body, most common a pendant to have over their heart.

The Litheita is shaped a little like a seed to signify all family starts from one source, life (also believed the single source may be love). The spiral to represent the endless nature of family, how there is no end or beginning. The spiral does come to a point in the design, this is to represent the transition from the family we are born to, to the “new” family that is “born” to us. This represents children, adopted children, mate, and the mate’s family.

Artist Notes : The idea of the spiral is ancient and found all over the world in different civilizations. Therefore it belongs to all of us and yet none of us. The artwork and the description with it were all thought of by me.
