Luned tried to hide herself behind Jorrik.  He had not given her anything to hide her features and people were staring.  Well, the nice ones were only staring.  There was a lot of screaming, running, cursing, and crying too.  Her hearts were breaking over the knowledge that she scared people with her mere looks.  What was worse, was she knew every face and now knew what their reactions to her undeath were.

"Jorrik!  What is the meaning of bringing this abomination into our town?"  It was one of the town's guard.  A man named Eric who owned and ran a farm not too far outside of the city limits.  It was a small town, they had no King's Guard to protect it, they had to do that on their own.  Eric was also a village elder, sort of.  He was only in his thirties.

"Dun see a damn abomination," Came Jorrik's reply.  For some reason he looked and acted like the crazy old man that living far away from everyone else.  His accent had become thicker, and his hair seemed less tamed.  Yet for the past couple of weeks he had not been this crazy man.

"What is that…thing?"  Eric's nose wrinkled in disgust as he turned to look to her.  She had her tan side peeking out from behind Jorrik, it was hard to tell it was her behind him.

"That be a construct, or a rag doll.  A person made from the flesh of the dead."  Luned flinched at those words as if she had been slapped.

"So she is an abomination and a creature the Gods and Goddess shun."

"Last I checked, none was shunnin' the girl save fer ya.  She still the good girl she always be."

"You knew this…thing…" Sneer, "Before she looked like this."

"Aye.  Ya alls did toos," He looked to Luned, "I sorry to be so crass with whatcha are little dolly.  But he's pissin' me off calling you those names.  Ya ain't non of dose things."

She nodded a little, a whimper coming from her throat.  She wanted to leave this village and never look back.  She didn't want to know what he friends and neighbors would say or think when they learned the monster before them was her.

"Loony?"  It was a broken voice.  One that once belonged to such a strong man.  She turned the side that was her to look at the man coming up on her, he lost a lot of weight and was a ghost of the man she knew.  He caught her into arms that she didn't remember being so skinny or weak before, "My little girl!"  Her father declared as he pulled her close.  "The necromancer said nothing could be done.  Your body lost.  But I know that unruly hair and blue eyes anywhere!" He was crying.  Oh papa, no…don't cry…

"Loony?!  You mean to tell me Orso that this…this creature is…was your daughter?"  Eric yelled.

"She is my daughter, and I don't appreciate you calling her a creature." He father finally pulled back and looked at her.  She could see him cringe.  He hadn't seen how ugly she was until now.  How deformed.  He looked broken all over again.  Then he focused on her eyes.  Papa leaned in and kissed her forehead gently, "She's my baby."

"She is a creature damned by the Gods themselves," Eric snarled, "She needs to be destroyed."

Luned nodded, she agreed.

"If you want to destroy my baby, you'll have to go through me."

"An' me," Jorrik snarled, "Ya be so damnable blind you not see that she is as she was.  She gots a soul, knows her name.  She jus' as sweet as aver.  'ittle sad, but I betcha you would nay handle yer death much neither."

She tried to pull away from her papa.  No, Eric was right she should be dead…hopefully fire didn't hurt too badly.  Then again she couldn't feel much.  Orso grunted a little, as Luned escaped him.  She looked confused as he gave her a smile that was trying to be reassuring but looked scared as well.  She backed away from him, she never saw her papa look at her with fear before.  She whimpered, she wanted to leave now.  She wanted to run away, and she didn't care in what way.

Jorrik caught her and no matter her struggles she couldn't get away from him.  She moaned, her arm hurt, pain was harder to feel but she still could feel it when it was extreme.

"See!  It's dangerous!" Eric pointed at her stuggles

"He's right…I should just be dead," Luned spoke softly, looking down.  Rubbing her shoulder joint.  Finally giving up at getting away from Jorrik.

Jorrik gave her a firm look, "Enough of that little dolly.  Ya jus have to learn ya new body.  An' she ain no more dangerous than anyone else."  He growled at Eric, "An' ye can stop treatin' her like a thing or a monster.  She a sixteen year girl.  Treat 'er like one.  Moron."

"I will hear nothing more from you crazy old man!"  Eric grabbed Luned's arm and jerked her towards him.  She cried out in pain, her arm was separating from her body near the shoulder joint.  Jorrik's fist met Eric's face with a loud crunch.

Papa had her in his arms again, cradling her against his barrel chest.  Her arm was useless…

Jorrik walked over, "She'll need some 'epairin'." He shook his head with a sigh, "This is nay goin' well."

Her father glared at Jorrik, "What did that bastard necromancer do to my baby."

"Brough' her back like you asked," Jorrik growled, "Jus' 'cause ya dinna get what ya expect it not be her fault or 'is.  Ya got yer baby back.  Lets get 'er 'ome so I can fix 'er up then ya can get to reknow yer baby girl.  'Cause she is still there.  It's 'er soul you see when you look in her eyes.  It's Luned.  But she's a might messed in the head from everythin' and it's gonna take time for her to be alright."

Papa carried her back.  Mama screamed, at the sight of her and fainted when she found out the "monster" was her daughter.  Jorrik fixed her shoulder.

She hid from the world in her room after Jorrik left.
"Hi Mom and Dad! I'm undead now! Isn't it cool?!"

"You teens and your crazy fashion trends."

Sorry...I'm in a bit of a weird mood tonight as I finish writing this chapter. I am glad Orso is the man he is.

And Jorrik, I flipping love him. Punch to the face. I wounder if my char Rose learned diplomacy from him... ~chuckle~ Anyway...

Next installment of Luned's story.
