Part I
Once upon a modern time, in a normal world is where our story begins. Technology rules the lives of the masses and magic is left to story books for most of them. To them anyone who claims to know and be able to do magic is either crazy or on something rather strong. The truth of the matter is, magic did exist and it wasn't as if those who could work with it kept their gifts a secret. Granted most magic workers still couldn't throw fire balls or float on air but they possessed a subtle magic, a magic that changed lives and altered history without anyone but the caster knowing. It is also not to say that fire balls, floating on air and mythical creatures didn't exist as well during this time, they on the other hand did keep secret.
Cailyn dropped before the coffee table that acted as her alter, she was near tears as her date failed miserably and the man she had been on the date with treated her like after dinner and movie it was some law a girl had to put out. She felt old in that moment as she fixed the items on her alter that had fallen when she flopped to the ground. Touching the Lovers card that rested on a little stand, one that a person could easily pick up at JoAnn's that you put pictures or decorative plates on for display, she was the type of girl who wanted forever, not just fun. She wanted love and everything that went with it. In her life she had accomplished many things but the only thing Cailyn didn't have was the other half she felt she was missing. Many thought she was just being too impatient after all she was only twenty-three.
Looking at her alter, all set up to bring the right man into her life Cailyn got angry enough she was ready to sweep everything to the floor. She wanted to throw the red and pink candles into the middle of the road and spread the herbs to sea, just to ease the pain of her failed spell. Her date tonight proved her magic was not what she thought it to be. The only thing that kept her from doing that was, well Cailyn wasn't impulsive nor did she allow her anger to become physical. She toyed with a piece of white lace when the thought hit her. Old legends stated that an invisible red string connected soul mates. A smile spread across her face as she dashed to the craft room to find a spool of red string.
It took her no time to sit before her alter with a cut piece of string. With her candles lit, her intentions set, and the spell cast she tied the string carefully around her pinky toe, of the left foot of course. The left side, on average, was after all for receiving and she wished to receive her love. Smiling as she lifted her bare foot up she wiggled her toes, "You shall bring me to my soul mate little string! So small with such a big job to do."
If Cailyn had more faith in herself maybe she wouldn't have over emphasized the spell, maybe if she had clearly explained that during her day as she walked she would walk towards her soul mate, maybe if she had a bit more time to think out the spell before doing it so quickly and on top of so many of her other spells bouncing around in the universe things wouldn't have happened as they had. If only Cailyn remembered the simple rule of "Be careful of what you wish for" because she knew better than anyone, that the Universe always granted your wishes in its own time.
When dealing with magic and witches, life can be so unpredictable.
When dealing with the universe, your wish is it's command.

When You're Gone:: Chapter One
Tenderly brushing his hand against her cheek—stained a blazing red from tears of despair and the merciless cold—Jake brought his lips onto Annabel's in a long kiss. She eventually and, albeit, reluctantly dipped into the caring motion, the both of them pulling away after a moment to bask in each other's presence. Each hot breath they exhaled came out in puffs and mixed with the frigid temperature of the January air. Annabel stared into her boyfriend's icy-blue eyes before looking back down to her jacket, absentmindedly fiddling with the plastic buttons.
"Do you...really have to go?" she asked with hesitation, slowly tilting her h

A Little Bit of Trust Cpt. 1
Most of the furniture already sat where it should in the apartment, but boxes still stacked up and cluttered the space. Adrian set the last box on the couch with a huff, his pale blue eyes scanning the main room. Where to start? Moving was exciting, but unpacking... not so much. So far the only indication that the place was his was the fresh college diploma on the wall.
Adrian's gaze stopped on the shopping bag on the counter, a small box visible through the plastic. With a sigh, he took the box from the bag and glanced over the packaging. At least his mother had bought humane mouse traps... Adrian couldn't really stomach dead things, even d

I Was the First Chapter 4
"You
can speak?" I whispered.
"Humans can talk?" Shai blurted out and looked toward the ocean. Our younger brother Taylor was motioning for us to return to the boat. We couldn't risk being here too much longer.
"Yes," the tiny girl answered both of us in one word.
"That means
"I began but Shai quickly stood up and interrupted me.
"It MEANS
that she can tell others about us. We need to get out of here."
I quickly stood up as well and watched Shai easily step right over the human girl. I watched nervously as her head cocked up as if trying to watch the movement, but it was causing too much strain on her neck. Shai

Okay, so I said I was going to work on a story that involved me and people I knew...I lied. Okay I am working on that story but apparently it's not all that ready to be told...
SO! I will be telling this tale instead as it wants to be mentioned. Okay so some facts on this story :
It will feature G/T (I just discovered this genre and it's stuck in my head.)
Magic is going to be a mixture of Witchcraft and make believe
And I think that would be it...
